    Yuanning Yu was born in Anhui, China, in May 1980. He received the B.Sc. Degree from the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. He received his Ph.D. degree in 2007.

    Jie Yu (PhD 2005)

    Jie Yu was born in Shanghai, China, in August 1976. He received the Ph.D degree from Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Drexel University in 2005. He received the B.Sc. and M.S. Degrees from the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 1999 and 2002 respectively. He is currently a system engineer in Pittsburgh, PA.

    Rui Lin (PhD 2004)

    Rui Lin was born in Wuhan, China. She received the Ph.D degree from Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Drexel University in 2004. She received B.Sc. and M.Sc.     Sarod Yatawatta (PhD 2004)

    Sarod Yatawatta was born in Sri Lanka in 1974. He received the Ph.D degree in Department of Electrical and Compute Engineering, Drexel University, in 2004. He received the B.Sc. Degree from the University of Peradeniya in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 2000. He is currently a software engineer / Postdoc with ASTRON/University of Groningen, Netherlands, focusing on Developing Software/Algorithms for next generation radio telescopes.

    Xueshi Yang (PhD 2002)

    Xueshi Yang was born in Hunan Province, China, in September, 1976. He received his B.Sc. Degree in 1998 from Electronic Engineering department, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, and  his PhD in 2001  from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA.  Following his graduation he spent 6 months at Princeton University as a Research Associate. Since September 2002 he is a Research Staff Member of  Seagate Research, Pittsburgh, PA.

    His research area lies in impulsive self-similar processes, with applications in communication system modeling.

    Ivan Bradaric received the Dipl. Ing. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia, in 1996, the M.S. Degree in Mathematics in 2001 and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering in 2002, both from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA. He is currently an associate senior scientist with Capraro Technologies, Utica NY. His research interests include statistical signal processing, blind multiple-input multiple-output system identification and equalization with applications in multiuser communications, and estimation of higher-order statistics.

    Binning Chen (PhD 2001)

    He received the BSEE degree from Xidian University and the MSEE degree from Tsinghua University and his PhD from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Drexel University, in September 2001.     Alper Kutay (Research Associate 1999-2000)

    Mehmet Alper Kutay was born in 1972, in Konya, Turkey. After finishing Ankara Science High School, he received his BS, MS and Ph.D. degrees all in electrical and electronics engineering from Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey in 1993, 1995 and 1999 respectively. During his graduate studies, he was a Teaching and Research Assistant. During March 1999 - June 2000 he was with the Communications and Signal Processing Laboratory at Drexel University, Philadelphia PA. He is now a senior research scientist at the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey - National Research Institute of Electronics and Cryptology (TUBITAK - UEKAE). He is the co-author of the book "The fractional Fourier Transform with Applications in Optics and Signal Processing" published by Wiley & Sons. He was awarded third place in the 1994 IEEE region 8 student paper contest for his work entitled "An Adaptive Speckle Suppression Filter for Medical Ultrasonic Imaging". His current research areas include time-frequency signal representations, fractional Fourier transform, time-varying filtering, biomedical signal characterization and processing, and radar signal processing. He is a member of IEEE.
