BioProfessor Daryoush has developed and taught a variety of graduate courses in electromagnetic fields, microwave and photonic devices, RF circuits, and antennas. Dr. Daryoush has also conducted research in microwave photonics resulting in publication of over 200 technical papers and many sponsored projects. Prof. Daryoush was a Summer Faculty Fellow at NASA-Lewis Research Center, Cleveland, OH, and in the summers of 1989 and 1990 at Naval Air Development Center, Warminster, PA. In academic year of 1996-97, Dr. Daryoush was on the Sabbatical Leave from Drexel University and worked as a Visiting Scholar at NTT Wireless Systems Laboratories, Yokosuka, Japan. Dr. Daryoush has been awarded four US patents; one of his patents is now licensed for commercialization. He has served as guest editor for The Journal of Franklin Institute and Microwave & Lightwave Technology Letters. The recipient of the Microwave Prize in the 16th European Microwave Conference, Dublin, Ireland, Dr. Daryoush has also received the best presentation awards in the 1986 and 1994 International Microwave Symposia.

Prof. Daryoush is a member of Sigma Xi since 1986, and has served as president of the Drexel University Chapter in 1999. He has also served the IEEE Philadelphia Joint Chapter of the AP/MTT Societies in various capacities, such as vice chair, chair, and ex-officio member from 1989 to 1995. As the chapter officer he had co-organized the annual Benjamin Franklin Symposium. He is also one of the organizers of the 2003 International Microwave Symposium in Philadelphia, PA and guest editor of the December 2003 Issue of IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques. Dr. Daryoush has served as TPC co-chair of IEEE sponsored Microwave Photonic meetings in 2002 (Japan) and 2004 (Canada).

Dr. Daryoush is a member of MTT-3 Technical Committee on Lightwave Engineering. He has also served as member of the technical program committee of MTT-S, AP-S, and LEO-S sponsored international meetings, and organized and lectured in a number of IEEE sponsored workshops. For his technical contributions Dr. Daryoush was elected as a Fellow of IEEE in 1999 "for contributions to the field of nonlinear microwave photonics with applications to high-speed fiberoptic links."
