| Bio | Dr. Eisenstein was a NASA/ASEE Fellow at Stanford University and the Ames Research Center and a Visiting Research Fellow in Electrical Engineering at Princeton University under the sponsorship of NSF. In 1980 he was appointed Professor and Department Head of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Drexel University and served in that capacity until 1995. He was appointed the Arthur J. Rowland Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1996. He has published nearly 50 papers in the areas of digital signal processing, pattern recognition, deconvolution, and biomedical engineering. He was the 1976 recipient of the C. Holmes MacDonald Award of Eta Kappa Nu given to the Outstanding Young Electrical Engineering Educator. He is a member of Eta Kappa Nu, Tau Beta Pi, Sigma Xi, ASEE, and is a registered professional engineer. He was elected Delaware Valley Engineer of the Year for 2000. He was the 2000 President of the IEEE. His other IEEE positions have included Chairman of the Philadelphia Section, IEEE Treasurer, Vice President for Technical Activities, Member of the Board of Directors, and President of the Education Society. Dr. Eisenstein is presently on the Eta Kappa Nu Board of Directors and a member of the Board of the Settlement Music School. |
