Practice. Learn how to self-arrest with an iceaxe!	Getting ready. About 3 AM on June 30.	Sunrise on June 30. We are climbing hogback ridge. It's sunrise, and Mt. Hood is casting a shadow on the atmosphere. The guides call this "The Pyramid".
On the crest. Oleh from Philadelphia, Mia from Oregon, Paul from Denver, Ben from Quebec.	Mt. Hood is said to be the most popular climb in the US. Our group was among the first to crest, with many more to follow.	Mt. Jefferson, to the South of Mt. Hood.
