The ECE Department prepares men and women to become leaders working in a highly dynamic and global environment at the forefront of Engineering and pursues research to advance the state-of-the-art in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Engineering Education.
ECE Educational Objectives

Our
alumni will:
- continue
as valued, dependable, and competent employees in a wide variety
of fields and industries, in particular as electrical/computer engineers,
- succeed
in graduate and professional studies, such as engineering, science,
law, medicine or business,
- pursue life-long learning and professional development
for a successful and rewarding career,
- provide leadership in their profession, in
their communities, and in the global society, and
- function
as responsible members of society with an awareness of the social
and ethical ramifications of their work.
ECE Program Outcomes

At graduation, our students will have:
- the ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering
- the ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data
- the ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability
- the ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams
- the ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems
- the understanding of professional and ethical responsibility
- the ability to communicate effectively
- the broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context
